Meet your trusted advocate

Attorney Kagnar “Ganya” Som has extensive experience representing victims injured as a result of premises liability and motor vehicle collisions. Kagnar is a strong advocate for victims' rights because she understands how overwhelming the legal system can be for victims and their families. Her compassion for her clients stems from personal experience. Born in Cambodia, Kagnar escaped the terror of the Khmer Rouge and immigrated to the United States in 1981.

While studying at the University of Washington, Kagnar interned with U.S. Senator Patty Murray, contributing to the passage of the Victims' Rights Bill. This experience inspired her to pursue law. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law. Prior to law school, she helped establish the first Committee for Diversity at the Washington State Bar Association.

Kagnar is a member of the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA) and an Eagle member of the Washington State Association for Justice (WSAJ). Most recently, she became a founding member of the National Association of Cambodian American Lawyers (NACAL), an organization committed to promoting diversity and representation within the legal profession.

Kagnar is licensed to practice law in Washington State and in federal court in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
